Pockmarks 02:59
Pockmarks on moon's skin, you are sitting inside your car The frozen frame in the night Wondering just how far you'd be able to drive, the arsenic pen droops from your mouth Trust is a weakness, lies enticed you like a siren's serenade made of cyanide Should listen to your mind, "if it's too good, just run" It's a flytrap waiting to go off No more waiting No more wasted time Pockmarks on moon's skin, you are driving 'round in the night Phone vibrating in the glovebox Afraid of leaving but afraid to stay around It's time to fight, jump into the fire You're still thinking out loud "all this time I was blind" "I'll say it first, it's over, I'll never run back into your Venus arms" It's detox time, no parting words, your patience has run out No more waiting No more wasted time

As I go through these photobooks and dusty old diaries I can't help but look back on all those special memories with pride You were likely my best friend back then Bottles as part of the furniture In many ways we were quite different I was into gleaming clothes and films, you were into drugs I liked to play calm like Clint, you were the impulsive one Canny nagging while acting manly "Please don't mix up with that crowd", I said They'd never pick you up from the gutter If you ever ended up in that sad state of mind Primary school's funny like that, volatile yet so fragile Pint-sized minds spotting planes after school waiting for the ride "We'll always be bros" we'd shout across the road The onus, onus is on me to tell our frail tale As time passed and I passed my exams you were not often around I thought earth had swallowed you, eventually I left the town Years turned to decades, I found myself a new home down south Until one day it hit me: I'd started missing your scowl With eagerness I dialed your numbed and called, no response After days I got a call back and my heart nearly stopped Waves of life had pulled you underwater claiming your life I'm still reminded by the airplanes in the sky The onus is on me to tell our frail tale

Your 80-pound fairytale For too long I've, for too long I've watched from the sidelines as dreams corrode your mind And stains on the sheets won't fade, no I have to find my, I have to find my courage, this won't cut it anymore I've watched you shrink away Trying to fade like, trying to fade like a fragile firefly when you are only human You've got everything and nothing Dents and cuts that just won't heal, no You think you're nothing, well ain't that something When you're really everything to me Everything to me We're in it, we're in it, we're in it together Everything, nothing You've got everything and nothing

As time stands still And the world's asleep I can feel the heat It's you and me Since I laid my eyes on you The secret's been stuck with us like glue But our love's slowly building our tomb It comes to life only 'round fullmoon Yes, I should have been home by now The passion's too strong to slow down We know this has gone on for too long Shh, did you hear that What was that sound? As time stands still And the world's asleep I can feel the heat It's you and me
